Project 2A: Natural structure ( space & depth )

This assignment is to design a geometrical pattern based on natural structure.

So, among the infinity type of natural structure in this universe, i choose this
 

  










BUTTERFLY!!!

Butterfly is an insects which have a pair of colorful wings naturally. Some of the wings pattern are geometrical and symmetrical, so i decide to choose butterfly as my design.

This is the my favorite butterfly. It looks smart right? 

 

Firstly, I draw a basic unit of the whole pattern design. I use arc

and section of circle to construct a simple basic butterfly shape geometrically.

  Then,i arranged them to form a bigger size butterfly shape. The center of the pattern i arranged the basic unit in hexagon and make it as the body of the butterfly. The rest is the wings of the butterfly. 

        I colored it in blue and yellow just similar as the  butterfly 

above to present the beautiful wings pattern. 

  

                                  Hence, a butterfly pattern is formed!

Project 2a: Man made structure ( form & structure)

CONFERENCE HALL OF HBP

      This is USM School of housing, building, planning (HBP), and my study place. HBP is the famous multi-disciplinary building construction-based educational centre in Malaysia. This building is the conference hall of HBP. This conference hall is the place where those professional to have their meeting and media conferences. From this view, we can see the both natural and built environment. The towering old tree is the significant of the age of this land. The Malay style hut reflects the unique traditional architecture. This shows a great combination of vegetation and building which stay together in harmony.

        Besides, this building is meaningful to me because I was interviewed here, and I passed it.             

        Hence, here I begin my architecture study life - the conference hall of HBP.  =)

Project 1B: Me,Myself, & I

     I am Loh Lih Khoon, 19 years old recently.  I was born in Penang. I come from a moderate family.  I studied in Kedah Matriculation College.  I am always proud of to be matriculation student.

     I’m not attractive in physically may be because I’m too skinny.I’m happy when peoples around me are joyful. I’m upset when people surround me are sad. I’m easily got mad but easy to forgive someone too.  I’m stubborn but I conceive it as a determination in my life.  I admit I’m emotional but at least I don’t hide my true feelings.

    I love architecture. It is the art of building. I wish someday me able to design a build a building which is not just a house but a piece of art. Hence, I want to become an architect. It’s my passion. That’s my dream.

Project 1A : My link( Line and shape)

This is my logo -- LLK.
This logo is designed based on my name short form-- LLK and it is in cube shape. Every part of architecture is related to cube and there some famous architecture is in cube shape, for example Water Cube,Beijing. It inspired me to use cube as the frame because it is represent space, dimensions, perspective, and art. There are 3 colors in this logo. Dark blue represent power, seriousness and integrity. Light blue represent tranquility and understanding. White means safety and purity. These colors shows my personalities and my attitude toward architecture.
Overall, this logo shows architecture element ( through the cube), my characters( through the colors) ,and me --- LLK.
